Life is filled with strange currencies and there's a range of reasons from simple and complex why you can't always share frequent times with these people, but you enjoy them when they happen and you keep that positive part fresh in your mind until the next encounter. You know where to find them for quick blips of technological pseudo-socialization, you know that your widely differing paths are likely to intersect from time to time. You don't get mad, sad, or lose sleep - you smile because you've shared something rare.
