i've spent a lot of time by myself these past couple of weeks, probably a 50-50 split between voluntary and involuntary. For the most part it's been nice, the only thing that bothered me a little was having this gigantic nostalgia lake palace all to myself at night - the past couple nights kinda freaky with all the creaks and movement from the strong wintry wind gusts. I've had a handful of random visitors at times, but for the majority it's been myself and the resident puppy, Maya.
I think this is the longest spread of time i've spent with the pup, and it's been a real pleasant experience except for the one day she decided to run out onto the big frozen lake and then to a neighbor's yard - me without thinking running onto the mostly frozen water (i say mostly frozen because i felt these deep crunches underneath each light-footed step i took, i imagined the shifting of tectonic plates during an earthquake and the inevitable parting of ice beneath me) and then she had the to run into the neighbor's yard only humanly accessible by climbing up onto their boat dock. She smelled the scent of Zeus, the more than fitting name of the black-and-white-specked Great motherfucking Dane i had the pleasure of meeting myself once i hoisted my frozen body onto their lawn, i was greeted by this massive friendly beast, no joke - with his ears pointy he was taller than me and i'm 5'3". Nice dog, but damn huge and even non-threatening me, i was invading his lawn......i was like "hey Zeus, nice to meet ya, i'll be leaving now....(to get the leash)"
Finally after what-seemed like 45 minutes, probably only like 7, Zeus' owner caught Maya by the collar and embarrassed me pulled that frisky flirtatious goldendoodle all the way back home. Dogs don't laugh, but i felt like she was laughing at me directly calling me a dumbass for believing dogs could ignore their animal instincts. That'll teach me to play without a leash nearby. After getting over being laughed at by a dog, we shared a mid-morning nap on the couch and life was back to normal. I love dogs, especially this one.
I'm gonna be a little sad when i don't have to watch her anymore, i really enjoy her spunk and love for humans. Here's some snaps of us being friends:

olympic diving
What is there to do in a small new england city in blizzard conditions? Hmm let's see; drive 5 mph and get stuck going up hills, go sledding into chain-link fences, wish you were one of the lucky few to have a snow mobile in the city (and then curse them for waking you up at 4:30am), gravel snow angels, sidewalk snowmen.....or wait....roof jumping into shoveled snow piles!! I finally met my silly neighbors today and they decided the proper way to bond was jumping off the roof together into heaps of powdery snow. Next time we'll have to learn each other's names.

relator
i was taking a day off from work and i was channel surfing and caught ear of Ellen Degeneres saying "coming up next Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansen" - Really? I was like "oh pete yorn what are you doing to your sweet sweet music" and then i just kinda was a little shaken up that i enjoyed their performance, even Scarlett, and the simple song kinda stuck in my head.

letter
Dear Santa,
Here is my christmas list. It won't cost anything but time and long hard work and common sense accompanied with brains. My family wants to give me stuff, i've got plenty of stuff i don't need more and i don't even have space:
- An idea to pull my whole tentative tattoo concept together (i like bright contrasting colors and traditional tattoo styles)
- A job that suits me; your recommendations are strongly encouraged, i need guidance
- Extra time in the day to watch tv, glue stuff, make themed mixes for people or myself, cooking
- Advise people to stop telling me what i want to hear. It's obnoxious and it makes me uncomfortable and i'm bored with bullshit.
- Attention Span longer than hey wanna go ride bikes?
- The desire to dust & vacuum my car
- Understanding why i start so many things and never finish them
- Fixing #7
- The ability to utelize creativity to be shared with the masses
- The house recipe for the Bloody Mary @ the Friendly Toast
- Increasing world peace and happiness and Decreasing world hunger and dispair.
I don't necessarily need all these right now or even all at once, my birthday is strategically placed 6 months after christmas, which gives you ample time to tell those lovely birthday fairies what they need to get workin' on.
Catch ya later fatty white jolly and generous dude
xoxo,

freezing, batman smells
i just got some new dresses and tights and it's too cold to wear them without having my cheeks freeze, i'm trying to pack on a few pounds for insulation, but it's not working so well, i'm still cold. I think i'm getting that annoying winter asthma coughing nonsense again too. As usual, not really feeling the whole christmas spirit vibe everyone i know has and trying to force-feed me with hopes they can fill me up with christmas cheer. I appreciate your concern, i admit to being grinchly, however, I am making an attempt to send out handcrafted xmas flair this year to friends who supply me with their mailing addresses. I'll watch christmas movies like Elf and anything done by sesame street/the muppets earlier than 1990. And I'll even sing along to christmas songs, good ones.....
My big issue with this year is my office radio situation. A ton of coworkers have invaded my control of the satellite radio and put on crappy modern renditions of classic christmas tunes that are no way comparable to older recordings. I feel like i need to properly give them a lesson on selecting office-friendly holiday music, or at least paying attention to the fact that there are other holidays people celebrate at this time and maybe they don't like to hear Jessica Simpson butcher Ella Fitzgerald per say.
So yeah, send me your address and i'll gladly send some classic xmas mia style your way. . . . . and i'll do my best from telling you something else!!

Life Jockey
I just remembered why we ventured to walmart at 1am the night before turkey day.....no not stupid bargains you can just get online, but the thrill of getting trampled to death was fresh on my mind....
i actually found something about one display aisle extremely aesthetically pleasing and all it was were mass quantities of very stereotypical turkey-day cooking products (pretty warhol-ish, without dayglo colors). innately, i stood posing right in front of Jiffy cornbread mix.
I was so impressed with the attention to detail, i almost had something that i suppose could be a spiritual moment, but let's be serious.......
Later on is where i really almost peed myself in shock. I didn't know there existed such a product, let alone be carried at walmart. I thought, "wow a Life Jockey, everyone needs a little guidance. and here it is only $9.99, Walmart is gonna give me purpose!" And in some 1/2 conscious moment i blurted out "I love the USA"
I haven't really figured out how to use it yet, but I'm not worried, it's Walmart quality!

sweet note
On a sweet note - - Big Ups to Miss Abbey Baker, she's phenomenal! Why? Not only did she run the Karaoke mic tonight...... she went out on a limb based on my suggestion to cover my favorite favorite Heart song, "Alone" and she killed it and she totally knew it would get me so so excited!! Thanks for covering that one! I got this real rough recording of it on some weird app i gots on my iphone. it's pretty rough and doesn't do much justice (if you've ever heard Abbey sing live, you'd know) i'm psyched still on her insane talent - she can belt tunes like no one's business. still in so much awe, she's not afraid of shit, it's rad.

revisiting Cake Wrecks
I forgot i snapped a bunch of iPhone pics at the Cake Wrecks book signing a couple weeks ago. They had 2 really amazing 3-d cakes that were donated from 2 New England bakeries T-Rex Wrecks and then Fenway Park!! They were both impressive and artistically inspiring. I was thinking about getting into Fondant sculpture/cake covering....but i don't really like baking so i don't want to take a cake class, i just wanna make 3-d things that don't taste particularly good.....
Does anyone really enjoy eating fondant? It reminds me of those wax bottles filled with that sugary liquid that i always thought i liked, but every time i chomped into a bottle i'd be repulsed. Is it just a better tasting wax? I need to do some research!
So here's some views of the professional cakes and some of the Fan Cake Wrecker competition.:.

Gracias
I guess I’m all warm in fuzzy inside? Spending hours with my silly family, getting dog hair in my mouth, possibly all the delightful food. It might be all the coffee and bottled spirits.
I get sentimental a little less than a handful of times a year, but I think this time of year is a good time to kind of evaluate what I’ve done over the past year and maybe squeeze a little more fun out of the remaining 30-ish days….keeping my options open and schedule full……In my typical list format:
1. Laughter. It’s important to laugh and be near people that make you laugh. it's the one infection i don't mind spreading/receiving
3. Flexible work schedule – although I take being employed for granted this year –eh not so much right now – I’ve been very fortunate to work in a place that would rather save money by letting me go on multiple vacations, than pay someone to keep a controllable workflow. Thanks !??!
4. Goodbye Gallbladder Disease!! That nasty little waste filter is outta my life forever !!!
5. Corndog-O-Rama – New music, new ideas, new flavors, and new traditions. 100% FUN!
6. My iphone surviving a tumultuous year of physical abuse and neglect -cracked, shattered, and chipped glass and you still work! - I knew you’d get through the tough times ole pal!
7. Intuition & Common sense – Don’t leave home without it.
8. Theme Parties – roll out the red carpet, crimp your hair, put on your tailored duct tape outfit, go ahead and fill your 90-degree kitchen with 500 lbs of sand – and dance dance dance the night away……
9. Grilled cheese.
10. Being there. I’m thankful I was able be there for people that needed me this year. It’s never really easy, in fact, sometimes it’s outright the worst thing imaginable – but you still gotta be there. Maybe it’s my naïve belief in humanity or karma or that within reason you can find good in everyone (I am hopeful) - if I ever needed a hand i like to think someone would do the same for me.
11. t-pain
12. Random Rancid and Lucero Shows in Boston - 5 different nights of awesomeness
***Cliff Notes Version: Enjoy every day, open your heart, laugh a lot, do something that terrifies you, listen, learn, and just be honest with yourself . . . .

polyester paradise
I'm relocating my thought process, crafting, scheming, and snoring to my family's polyester paradise lakehouse for a bit. I get pretty excited to do this every once in a while, get to hang out with my favorite 4-legged friend Maya, catch up on smutty mtv/vh1 reality shows, drink other people's opened milk, take scenic pictures and get in some killer shower singing sessions* - that is, when i'm not working or running around.
*who woulda thought a 1960's plaid wallpapered bathroom with a mint-colored tile shower stall would have such amazing acoustics?? It does and it not only makes shower singing that much more enjoyable, it makes me sound like Whitney (before Bobby)

Miadupa & T-pain's first recording!
This was something completely random i did last month 1st-take one day 5 minutes right before i had to take a shower to get to work in 30 minutes.....i somehow figured out this nifty app and that i could sing using t-pain's voice effects over some random track i've never heard before. Of course it had to be done at that time, risking being late, yet again...... It's pretty shitty, and total nonsense verbage, but hey - it's good for a random laugh (music video to follow)
So i just figured out how to make a link and then it took me forever to figure out what the heck i was saying and i decided to type out the lyrics, just for the full experience......read along, there's kind of a storyline....no, not really....

"ho'seradish"
Wednesday night out with my fly girlies we goin up to C-town, mean town (not really it’s Coventry)
To the bids, get some lids,
Flip those lids got some buckets of Rolling Rocks
We just there for the chicken necks,
The chicken wings, the fly wings
The wings fly down my throat
26, 32, however many flavors
They got lots of flavors but we only pick 3
It comes with that bucket of rocks the rolling rock, rock’n’rollin’
It’s what we do on a Wednesday
A Wednesday night with the ladies
Ladies who like the chicken necks
What’s next?
Oriental sesame, I like the spicy spicy honey bbq hot wings,
honey buffalo, traditional
Every once in a while we mix it up
Get some boring ones like the buffalo
Everybody likes buffalo wings
but not me, not really
I mean they’re ok –
I like the mustard horseradish
Because I’m polish
The Ho’seradish goes good with salty meat too
Kielbasa, hot dogs, sausage
We don’t discriminate
the Polocks like ho’seradish
Ho’seradish at Bidwelll
Ho’se mustard chicken wings
Woah chicken wings
Got a basket discard the bones
and some wet naps wipe our fingers off
when were done licken’ ‘em
honey bbq is real sticky,
real sticky!
I heard they got a got a roach problem at bids
we aint playing kids
we go there anyway
the roaches make it tough
as tough as it can be with a stage coach outside
with pastic ho’ses and a buggie
it looks like its’ barn a hard-ass barn
jesse james wouldn’t eat there
he doesn’t bugs
but with the stage coach and ho’ses
I think he…..
I think he’d fall in love if he tried honey-hot, sweet’n’sour
and the ho’seradish mustard
that’s my favorite if you haven’t noticed
it’s because I’m Polish
I’m really polish
I’m about half
Just my moms and my dads
when they had kids that makes us half too
We like to eat meat with ho’seradish at family hollidays
Purple ho’se radish,
white ho’se radish
Bottled and fresh
Bottled and fresh

recap: let all the children boogie
Oh wow, did i get lazy for halloween, how embarrassing! At least my lazy is still more exciting than store-bought pre-made costumes :)
I was sooooo exhausted from vacation i totally lost ambition to play out my original "costume" and decided to do with my old standby Totally 80's Wow. I guess i kinda mix it up each time i do it.... i've played out the culture club/zebra pants/pink hair/record player bit i've updated to my newly butchered hulk hogan/ florescent jeans/extra crimped.....yadda yadda yawn on my part i know. shove it.
i just liked other people's costumes this year, they were snazzy. i tried to grab pics with a bunch i liked, but i totally missed out on this one dude who was dressed up as ziggy stardust! he totally disappeared or maybe i had too many Jameson concoctions that i totally lost track before the end of the night. shucks! hey pseudo ziggy if you're out there- nice face!
here's some of my favs:
smurfette? mrs. smurf i also liked (but didn't add pics yet) goat boy, the bloody couple, abbey go go showgal, "i'm not Keanu, i'm from the Matrix, jerk!," mega cave woman (i made it in 10 minutes for megs!), postal barry and that one dude that was Hannah Montana too, he was silly.

that was a fun night again.....next year i'll grab a prize........i've got 358 days to work out all the kinks -ha!

ya heard?!?!
ello friends- i've got a hobby turned blog-ish. nothing serious, just kinda an ode to deep fried hot dogs on a stick and getting people getting riled up about me getting riled up about corndogs and celebrating the cooler concept of being silly adults, which is the new big kid. I think corndogs are really a prime example of how 2 negatives make a positive. And in just saying that i realize it's a total crock, hotdogs and deep fried objects are both awesome. I'm not so learned in high school crap math. I prefer statistics and things you don't have to imagine are there, or "what if" scenarios. I can do it, but that shit pisses me off. Furthermore, keeping all things positive.........................
................this new blog it's kinda new and awkward at first, i haven't developed any new html formatting skills, or lost interest in cheezy 70's/80's music (sorry, can't change that about me), so i'm somewhat consistent....... it's not really corndawggin' season so i'm trying my best to find pictures, places, and events that are accessible to me and unlike this blog, i'm more open to what other people have to offer to make it wild.

my sister, my hero
it's halloween and my favorite part of this awesome holiday is the unveiling of my sister's latest and greatest halloween costume masterpiece. she's seriously always has the best costume, so any attempt i have for a great idea is immediately smothered by her innate creativity. i need to find some pics of past costumes just to share her finest work. Don't get me wrong, i come from a pretty creative family and i am quite proud of my own innate crafting abilities, but the bar is set ridiculously high when my sister is involved. cheers to her latest line of Carnival freaks and entertainers, Lobster Lady!!!
that's boss!
***oh btw, Anyone in the greater Boston/New England area sunday December 6 come check out the Bazaar Bizarre (i like to call it the punkrock craft fair) @ Cyclorama. My sis is on the board of directors or something fancy like that, a fun group of people organizing the event, selecting vendors, entertainment, location, etc. etc. There's way over 100 vendors, lots of really cool stuff to buy, and it only costs 1 american dollar to get in! The lines tend to wrap around the block or 2, so get your cute little asses there pronto! It's good people, really cool one-of-a-kind stuff that will make all your friends super jealous, grab your mom something for the holidays, or a birthday gift for your best buddy, or a lil' something to make someone blush.........or just drop by to say hello to me :) I'll be back vending my sister's goods again this year at the Thimblewinder/Marissaland Table

in fact
i heard this song on satellite radio tonight at some random out-of-town place. i don't like fiona apple, mostly because she sucks live and i think she's starving both on the plate and for hollywood attention and i think she lacks personality but makes up for it in the crazy depeartment. My harsh opinions are derived from when i saw her in concert a couple years back (thank pockets it was for for free) and she distastefully had a nervous breakdown on stage. it was miserable and uncomfortable to watch. save that crazy shit for the greenroom or your hotel bathtub. although she bores me to death i really enjoyed this video by her and only because Zack Galfiankas is hilarious in it. i love probably everything about him and i can back that up solely based on this video.

forced summer!
i'm really excited to go on vacation especially after today seeing some slushy snow nonsense on my way to the ole office this afternoon, i kind of need to relax again, but i know that won't be happening on this trip because vacations are rarely relaxing because there's always a lot going on. Maybe i'll designate 30 minutes of nothing each day to relax.......maybe i'll just designate 30 minutes each day that i only use Spanish (totally aggrivate my friends!!)
we're headed for our yearly estrogen getaway, we've picked up a new vacation group member this year making it 4-square. here's some pics from the fun we had last year.... heatstroke, melanoma, monctezuma's revenge, hangovers and all!! Just kidding, i only had a little of all that and TONS of fun ;9)

hellomean!
I have a really good idea for a halloween costume-slash-traveling halloween scene......it's pretty hilarious and kinda vulgar and maybe blatantly sexual...... and i think that's why no one has really stepped up to joining me. i'm kinda disappointed in the lack of random acts of sillyness people have to offer these days. i'm just sayin' it's one night of the year, and prolly everyone won't remember because A. they'll be wasted and B. if you really are that into halloween you only pay attention to how awesome you think your own costume is. Honestly, this is one of my favorite nights of the year because it screams creativity. It's a commitment, but everyone else that will remember will be like "damn i can't believe they did that." i'm just sayin' it's one for the books kids. Don't be camera shy. Be glorious with me. I triple dog dare you. I'm really into it for shock value this year...........
if you want to be boring and buy your costume from Target this year i won't judge you immediately, hey! that's pretty cool too.

marge in charge
So tell me something.....is Marge gonna show off her cartoon crotch and jubblies? I guess we'll have to wait and see
Safe at second base!
Wow, yeserday Val and Tina of the Treasure Chests raised decently over a thousand bucks, successfully making their fund raising goal!! It was a long day of bargaining with frugal crazy old people, drinking starbucks, chasing random objects in the wind, & hustlin' the Tormey sisters' very own gourmet baked goods. MUY YUM!!
Top 5 Favorite moments of tag sale.....
- Mr. Tormey granting me automatic invite for Sunday morning crepes whenever Val's in town (tactfully premeditated by my delivery of his favorite seasonal Starbucks beverage)
- That cheapskate old dude trying to talk Val's watch to one dollar, agrees on 2bucks then says it's broken! - Val, you run a tough bargain
- Finding a vintage item that sparked a killer Halloween costume idea (thanks Tormey Sir's!!) **Those of you who know shhh don't spoil the surprise!**
- Tina sweet-talkin that old crazy racist Korean war vet/border patrol hat wearin jerk.
- Helping out for an organization that i suppose in some way has already helped my family :)
Way to go ladies, i'll be thinking about ya next weekend, when you're walking 60 miles over 3 days in the potential raindrops, i'll be chillin' with my feet up high and dry!!

green thumb
If it's a nice day you'll find my mom in the yard planting, plucking, diggin dirt, and watering. She likes to do all this for fun, i don't really consider manual labor therapeutic, i think she likes to be alone and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. She always makes really pretty flower beds and window boxes and gets really neat ways to grow herbs.....one day i left this comic as a token of my appreciation of my mom's outdoor hobby in her little reading area, i think she ignored it being for her and put it in a random stack of my mail/random papers. It was really meant for her though and i think she totally missed my random act of kindness.

My mom is super nice and generous and I can't wait to plan her surprise 60th-b-day party!! But it's gonna be super secret, so don't tell her.
