It's a good thing to have people around that do and say nice things because they feel morally or uncomfortably socially obligated to. I'm glad to know that I can count on people to be around when I need to act like a human and acknowledge that sometimes random occurrences in life can really throw you for a loop. It's reciprocal. That's what friends are for (and for the fun stuff too).
