My parents are pretty cool people. They live in this old home that was “updated” in the early 1970’s. Being a child of the 80’s my knowledge of the 70’s has been somewhat limited to growing up listening to really awesome rock music, sitting on itchy upholstered sofas, getting splinters from 2 random walls with Brady Bunch station wagon wood paneling, and some really funky looking and/or textured wallpaper. As you can imagine, over the past 30-plus years my parents have lived in their home, couches have been replaced, my music appreciation of other eras grew far past my father’s original vinyl collection turned into more easily accessible and numerous cd collection, hence, broadening my appreciation and lyrical memory.
I’ve learned a lot from my parents and I respect them greatly, but seriously guys . . . . . . can you please change your walls? I know changing 30-year old wallpaper is a huge inconvenience, but every time I look at the walls I feel like need to be hallucinating to fully appreciate its aesthetic value. I'm trying to provide some constructive criticism like "the pink and blue carpets in the upstairs bedrooms match perfectly" or "if only the flowers could smell as good as they looked" - if I could just keep a straight face (i'm trying real hard)
In case you don't believe me i've provided concrete evidence. (Don't tell my mom, she'd be mortified):

parent's room (notice the gold stripes!)

my room, with foily gold detail and dizzying popping pattern (probably the reason why i've always been fond of symmetry and repetitive prints)

I’m polling for the ugliest wall. You can submit votes as comments or email me with your distaste at: mia.falco@gmail.com I will also take votes for favorite wall for all you wallpaper lovers (although i can't stand the paper, i do have fondness for my room's decor)

these prints are all amazing and get me so psyched on style and how it changes..those prints are going to be back in style in a few years and you will be asking what is the most beautiful..i say your parents room wins...im a huge fan of goldleaf shine
